The Jungle Scout Sales Estimator returns estimated average monthly units sold, based on BSR. It does not calculate revenue. To estimate monthly revenue, multiply the estimated units by the product’s current price on Amazon.
How to calculate revenue
Use the Sales Estimator to get the estimated monthly sales volume.
Find the product’s current price on its Amazon listing.
Multiply: estimated units x price = estimated monthly revenue.
Example: 750 units x $24.99 = ~$18,742.50

Time period covered: The Jungle Scout Sales Estimator shows a product’s average monthly sales based on a rolling 30-day window. Treat the estimator as a fresh, 30-day pulse check, and pair it with historical tools for context.
Key things to know
30-day average: It reflects the previous 30 days of activity. It’s a snapshot of recent performance, not a forecast.
Continuously updated: Because it’s rolling, the estimate refreshes with the latest data each time you use it.
Seasonality matters: A snapshot taken during a holiday spike or slow season can skew the number. Recheck at different times of year.
For history: On paid plans, use the Chrome Extension’s historical graphs or Product Tracker to see longer-term trends beyond 30 days.
Both tools use AccuSales™, but they may process different snapshots of data. Timing and input method are the main culprits behind discrepancies.
Data freshness
Chrome Extension – Pulls live data when you run it on an Amazon page.
Online Estimator – Uses the most recent data it has, which may lag behind what the Extension just fetched.
How each tool collects data
Chrome Extension – Reads current product info and estimates based on the last rolling 30 days.
Online Estimator – Depends on the BSR you manually enter. If the BSR changed since you copied it, your estimate reflects the older rank.
What else can move the numbers
Market fluctuations – Rolling 30-day averages shift as recent sales enter and older days drop out.
Promotions and price changes – Short bursts of sales can temporarily inflate BSR and estimates.
Parent/child ASINs – Variation handling and indexing changes can alter what gets counted.
How to get the best data
Prefer the Chrome Extension on the product page for the most up-to-date snapshot.
Check the historical graphs in the Extension to account for spikes, dips, and seasonality.
Re-run estimates at different times to smooth out BSR volatility.
